Two new employees at the Data Protection Authority

Eleonora Bergþórsdóttir and Kristín Fjóla Fannberg have been hired as legal experts at the Icelandic Data Protection Authority.

Eleonora has extensive experience in the field of data protection, having worked for years as a lawyer in that field and was a lawyer in the data protection team of Arion Bank's compliance department. She graduated with a Mag. Jur. Master of Laws degree from the University of Iceland in 2010 and with a diploma from the University of Edinburgh in the field of IT law in 2023.

Kristín Fjóla has extensive experience and knowledge of financial market legislation, public supervision and quality management. She has worked at, among others, the Reykjavík City Archives, Kortaþjónustan, the Financial Supervisory Authority, Drómi and Íslandsbanki. Kristín Fjóla completed her Cand. Jur. degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Iceland in 2001 and was admitted to the district court in 2003.
