The European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) recently published findings that highlight the challenges facing EU institutions in ensuring the right of individuals to access their personal data under Regulation (EU) 2018/1725.

The European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) recently published findings that highlight the challenges facing EU institutions in ensuring the right of individuals to access their personal data under Regulation (EU) 2018/1725. The report highlights key challenges, including problems with authentication and classifying requests. The EDPS underlines the importance of ensuring that this right is respected in practice, but also of raising awareness of guidelines for how the right should be implemented. The findings will have an impact on future policies for monitoring and implementing the right.
