Today, January 28th is Data Protection Day and on that occasion, Persónuvernd (The Icelandic DPA) holds a seminar in Kaldalón, Harpa, at 13-16. The title of the seminar is “Data Culture and the Security of Personal Data in a Modern Society” and the agency has brought in foreign and Icelandic experts in the field of personal data protection and cyber security to discuss the issue from different perspectives.

The European Data Protection Board (EDPB) has also produced a short video highlighting the importance of raising public awareness about data protection.

The video explains how personal data is a part of our daily lives and how important it is for us to understand our rights and responsibilities in the digital world.
