Up to €200,000 Available for Icelandic Cybersecurity Actors

Two new cybersecurity funding opportunities under the Digital Europe Programme (cascade funding / FSTP) are now open and may be of strong interest to Icelandic cybersecurity companies, research groups and public sector organisations. Funding of up to €200,000 per project is available, with application deadlines in March and April 2026.

CYSSDE – Open Call 3
(Penetration Testing & Vulnerability Assessments) CYSSDE has launched its third open call, focusing on penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.
Funding: Up to €200,000 per proposal with 50% co-funding required. Projects must therefore have a minimum total budget of €400,000 to receive the full €200,000 grant.
Opening date: 27 February 2026 at 10:00 CET
Deadline: 28 April 2026 at 15:00 CET
Eligibility: Single applicants or consortia (maximum two partners). Eligible applicants include SMEs, mid-caps, large enterprises, research centres and public sector organisations.
CYberSynchrony – Open Calls 1–3
CYberSynchrony has launched a single application window covering Open Calls 1–3.
Funding: Up to €200,000 per project (maximum €200,000 per participant across all calls combined).
Deadline: 1 March 2026 at 17:00 CET. The application is relatively short (10 pages or less).
Eligibility:
SMEs may apply as a single applicant (solo).
In collaborative projects (maximum 2–3 partners), an SME must act as coordinator.
Open Call 3 is strictly for collaborative projects and requires a mandate letter from partners for the SME acting as lead applicant.
