Artists‘ Salary Fund allocations 2026
1st December 2025
The allocation committees of the Artists’ Salary Fund have completed their work for the 2026 artist salary allocations.

A total of 1,148 applications were submitted, including 1,031 individuals and 117 performing arts groups.
Applicants requested a total of 10,719 months, of which 1,755 months were requested by performing arts groups.
Allocations are 306 for 2026. In addition, allocations will be made to participants in performing arts groups from the Performing Artists’ Salary Fund, which is linked to the Performing Arts Fund. Allocations from the Performing Arts Fund will be announced in the new year.
Vegsemd is a fund for artists aged 67 and older. One hundred monthly salaries were available for allocation across seven professional funds. Twelve artists from all funds receive a total of 108 months from Vegsemd. Allocations from Vegsemd will increase gradually and reach 180 months in 2028 (see legislative bill). In total, 27 artists aged 67 and older receive allocations, amounting to 212 months, or about 11% of the months available.
Fifty-seven artists younger than 35 receive a total of 262 months, or about 13% of the months from the professional funds. Of these, 26 are considered newcomers.
Newcomers are defined as artists who have never received an allocation or have received a single allocation for up to three months. The Board emphasized that newcomer participation in 2026 should be at least 8% of allocated months, and this target was met across all funds. A total of 82 grantees are considered newcomers and receive 346 months. The monthly amount of artist salaries for 2026 will be confirmed once the national budget for 2026 has been approved by Parliament. Artists' salaries are paid as contractor payments.
