A call for nominations for the Icelandic Research Fund Early Career Researcher Award 2027

The Icelandic Research Fund Early Career Researcher Award is presented annually to an outstanding young researcher who has demonstrated exceptional scientific achievement, originality, independence and potential for continued excellence in research.
Nominees should generally be no older than 40 years of age.
In assessing eligibility, due consideration will be given to the nominee’s career stage and the time elapsed since completing their PhD.
Eligible to nominate are professors, professor emeriti and associate professors.
Other academic professionals can be co-nominators.
A minimum of three nominators is required.
The Icelandic Research Fund Early Career Researcher Award will be presented at the Research Conference in January 2027.
Nominations shall be submitted through the Rannís online system.
Deadline for nominations is December 8th 2026 at 15:00 Icelandic time.
