The Research Convention will be held on Thursday, February 12 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, at Hotel Reykjavik Natura, under the title Open and Responsible Science.
The Research Convention addresses policy issues in the field of research and innovation, looking back at the past and ahead to the future.
The Research Convention addresses policy issues in the field of research and innovation, looking back and looking to the future. Each convention has a clear focus on a specific topic, and this year the focus will be on the interplay between responsible and open science, with an emphasis on data security and responsible dissemination. The discussion will cover how this definition of responsibility corresponds with the demands for open science and what consequences this has for the implementation of research, policy-making, and the development of infrastructure in the scientific community.
Logi Einarsson, Minister of Culture, Innovation, and Higher Education, will open the convention and will also present the Icelandic Research Fund's Motivation Award for 2026.
