Joint Nordic COST Info Meeting

For the second time, the COST CNCs of the five Nordic countries will jointly host a digital info meeting about the various opportunities by participating in COST Actions. The meeting will focus on how to participate in an action (not so much about the application phase) and include testimonials by COST participants. There will also be time for questions.

Participants are encouraged to submit any relevant topics they would like to see addressed to the hosts in their country beforehand.

Agenda

  • 13.30: Welcome, presentation of CNC’s from the Nordic countries

  • 13.35: Opening remarks by the President of the COST Association Åse Gornitzka, Professor, Department of Political Science, University of Oslo

  • 13.40: Participation in a COST action: Bart Veys, Head of the Policy Unit of the COST Association

  • 13.55: My experiences in COST Actions: George Kararigas, Professor at the Medical School, University of Nicosia - Athens, previously University of Iceland; has extensive experience with COST Actions, included as Science Communication Coordinator and Training School Coordinator

  • 14.10: Panel Discussion, Moderator: Mikko Ylikangas, Finnish CNC

    • Georgios Kararigas

    • Vootele Voikar, Research Coordinator of Helsinki Institute of Life Science, University of Helsinki, Chair of a recently concluded COST Action, and currently memberof the Management Committee of COST Action “European Initiative to Enhance the Current SABV Policy in Preclinical Biomedical Research”.

    • Rúna Guðmarsdóttir, Director of the Icelandic Erasmus+ National Agency at Rannís, PhD candidate at Tilburg University’s School of Social and Behavioural Sciences and former stakeholder advisor and co-leader of a Working Group within a COST Action.

    • Ellenor Divine, Head of the Swedish Research and Innovation Office in Brussels, experience in how COST can improve success for applications to the framework program

  • 14.40: Q&A

  • 15.00: End of the event
