From January 1st 2025, letters from ISAC will appear in the Digital Inbox on Ísland.is.

From January 1, 2025, letters from ISAC will appear in the Digital Mailbox on Ísland.is. This applies to individuals and legal entities that have been issued a personal identification number.

The change is part of the implementation of Act No. 105/2021 on the Digital Mailbox in the central government service portal. The Act aims to promote efficient public services, increase transparency in handling cases, efficiency in administration and ensure a secure way to communicate data to individuals and legal entities. The aim of the Act is also to make the main communication channel of the government with individuals and legal entities digital and centralized in one place.

Act No. 105/2021 states that all public entities are obliged to publish certain types of data in a digital mailbox by January 1, 2025. The data in question is any type of data that is generated during the handling of a case by the government.

ISAC publishes the following data in a digital mailbox:

  • Notification of audit

  • Audit agenda

  • Exception report

  • Final report

  • Certificate

  • Invoices

  • Decisions and other formal communications
