Donor eligibility
New tattoo: Donation is permitted 4 months after tattooing.
Tattoo removal: Donation is permitted when the wounds are healed.
A tattoo with skin color over an old tattoo is considered a new tattoo.
Microblading and permanent makeup: Donation is permitted 4 months after the treatment. Regarded equal to a tattoo.
Exceptions and comments
Please note:
It is permitted to choose an injection site in a tattooed area is if there are no signs of irritation or infection at the injection site. It is necessary to perform an examination of the tattooed area to rule out eczema/rash and signs of vein puncture.
Further information:
Laser therapy is used in a variety of procedures. In such treatments tissue is heated and burned. Laser surgery can leave open wounds that can become infected. Donation is permitted when wounds from laser therapy are fully healed.
