Teton AI solution at Móberg

18th May 2026

Heilbrigðisstofnun Suðurlands (HSU) has taken an important step in harnessing new technology in care and service delivery with the implementation of TETON at Móberg.

Teton provides real-time monitoring of clients, tracking changes in their activity and detecting falls and sleep.

The Móberg nursing home is the first care home to adopt this solution, and the rollout has started very successfully. TETON is an artificial intelligence solution that supports staff by providing smart and continuous oversight of residents’ wellbeing and movement. The system uses sensors and AI to detect specific changes or events, such as fall risk, movement patterns, or changes in sleep, thereby enabling staff to respond earlier.

Studies show that implementing the solution has led to an average 40% reduction in falls and up to a 75% reduction in incidents, while response times can be reduced by as much as 95%. The system places strong emphasis on safety and data privacy.

Ásta Tryggvadóttir, Head of Unit at Móberg, says about the project:

The implementation of the TETON system has significantly increased the safety of our residents, and we have already noticed positive results from its use. Staff have also reported greater calm in their work and reduced stress related to monitoring residents. Receiving alerts when a resident at risk of falling wakes up and sits up in bed allows for much faster response times, which reduces the likelihood of falls and thus enhances safety.

The implementation exceeded our expectations here, and staff quickly became proficient in using the system.

The implementation of TETON reflects HSU’s commitment to leveraging innovation and technology to strengthen services, support staff, and enhance the safety and wellbeing of those receiving care.
