Sigurður Böðvarsson to Take on New Role at HSU

Sigurður Böðvarsson is stepping down as Executive Director of Medical Services at HSU and will take up the position of Head of Oncology and Outpatient Services, where he will continue to lead the development and delivery of cancer care and outpatient services within the organization.

Sigurður joined the South Iceland Health Institution (HSU) in December 2018 as Head of Outpatient Services and Consultant in Medical Oncology. He subsequently assumed the roles of Executive Director of Medical Services and Executive Director of the Clinical Division. Over the past several years, he has held these leadership positions while simultaneously leading the development and expansion of cancer services in South Iceland.

Since joining HSU, Sigurður has placed strong emphasis on strengthening and advancing cancer care in the region and has played a key role in the development of these services within the institution.
