19th August 2024

Móberg the nursing home, was chosen as the most neatest institution in Árborg 2024

On Friday, representatives from the environmental committee of the municipality of Árborg, Daníel Leó Ólason and Þórhildur Ingvadóttir, presented the environmental accreditation of 2024 to the nursing home Móberg. The accreditation was received by the director of HSU, Díana Óskarsdóttir, and the director of nursing, Baldvina Ýr Hafsteinsdóttir.

The nursing home Móberg was opened in 2022 and is a two-story circular building with entrances in the center of the circle. The home is operated by the Healthcare Institution of South Iceland and has 60 nursing rooms and is divided into five household units.

The concept is based on a circular form that encases the home and frame the operation. The advantages of this construction form are explored in terms of visual connection into the common area, the mountain circle and the immediate environment.
