8th January 2026
Heilbrigðisstofnun Suðurlands has received a cybersecurity recognition from Aftra for strong performance in a cybersecurity improvement initiative.
The cybersecurity company Aftra organized a four-week security campaign that included targeted security challenges aimed at strengthening security awareness and improving baseline cybersecurity practices. All participating organizations improved their security score, Aftra’s metric for assessing how effectively organizations reduce their exposure to cyber threats.
“Cybersecurity is a key priority in the operations of the South Iceland Healthcare Institution, as we handle sensitive information and critical infrastructure,” says Daði Már Sigurðsson, Head of the Information Technology Department. “Participation in Aftra’s cybersecurity initiative was both valuable and educational, giving us the opportunity to further strengthen security awareness and internal processes. We are proud to receive this recognition, which confirms that we are on the right path.”
Aftra’s recognition is awarded to organizations that demonstrate active participation and measurable results in cybersecurity efforts and is part of Aftra’s mission to strengthen overall awareness and responsibility in cybersecurity across Iceland.
