Appointment of the HSU Professional Advisory Council for the Next Three Years

Díana Óskarsdóttir, CEO of Heilbrigðisstofnun Suðurlands, has appointed a new seven-member professional advisory council for the next three years.
The role of the professional advisory council is to serve as a consultative forum on professional development and the quality of services within HSU. The council is intended to promote progress and professional dialogue across the institution’s operations, guided by the best interests of patients and the community.
Members of the professional advisory council are Andri Jón Heide, Chief Physician of the HSU Emergency Department; Aníta Ársælsdóttir, registered nurse at the Vestmannaeyjar Primary Health Care Center; Anna Margrét Magnúsdóttir, registered nurse and assistant department manager at the Selfoss Primary Health Care Center; Björn Jakob Magnússon, physician at the Selfoss Primary Health Care Center; Lóa Björk Óskarsdóttir, Chief Biomedical Scientist; Sverrir Örn Jónsson, paramedic; and Þórhildur Hjaltadóttir, registered nurse and patient flow manager.
In appointing the council, emphasis was placed on diverse knowledge, experience, and perspectives from different professional disciplines within the healthcare system. The aim is to strengthen professional dialogue, support well-founded decision-making, and enhance the quality of HSU’s services in the future.
With the appointment of a new professional advisory council, a new term of professional collaboration within HSU begins, building on the good work of the previous council. I would like to thank the outgoing council for their valuable cooperation and, at the same time, welcome the new members to the HSU professional advisory council. The council comprises a strong and diverse team of professionals who will undoubtedly make an important contribution to the continued development and strengthening of HSU, says the CEO of HSU.
