Residence Permit Cards to be Collected at Hagkaup

The Directorate of Immigration has begun cooperation with Hagkaup in Skeifan regarding the handover of residence permit cards.
The cooperation greatly improves services for residence permit holders, as Hagkaup in Skeifan is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (see location).
Who can collect a residence permit card at Hagkaup
You can only collect your residence permit card at Hagkaup if
You had your photo for the residence permit card taken at the Directorate of Immigration and
You do not have a valid residence permit card in your possession
Important information
You must collect the card within 7 days of receiving notification that your card is available for pickup at Hagkaup.
If you do not collect the card within that time, it will be sent to the Directorate of Immigration, Dalvegur 18, for collection.
You must collect your card, and the cards of children in your custody, yourself.
You cannot authorize another person to collect your residence permit card on your behalf.
Who cannot collect a residence permit card at Hagkaup

If your photo was taken at a District Commissioner's office, you need to collect your card from the office where the photo was taken. You can request to collect the card at Hagkaup, but such a request must be received well in advance of the card being produced.
You have a valid residence permit card
If you have a valid residence permit card in your possession, you must collect the new residence permit card and return the old card to the Directorate of Immigration or the District Commissioner's office where you had your photo taken.

When your card is ready for collection, you will receive an email with information on where to collect it.
