The Directorate of Health advertises the work of the Chief Epidemiologist as vacant. The work of the Chief Epidemiologist is subject to the provisions of the Icelandic Centre for Disease Control Act, No. 19 of 1997, as subsequently amended, regulations and other legislation as appropriate.

The work of the Chief Epidemiologist is subject to the provisions of the Icelandic Centre for Disease Control Act, No. 19 of 1997, as subsequently amended, regulations and other legislation as appropriate. The Icelandic Directorate of Health says that the Directorate of Health is responsible for the implementation of quarantine under the authority of the Minister. Furthermore, the Directorate of Health shall be responsible for quarantine.
The Chief Epidemiologist is also the director of the Division of Disease Prevention and sits on the executive board of the Directorate.
The application deadline is 13.06.2022.
It is desirable that the person in question be able to commence work on 1 September 2022.
