30th June 2024
The Chief Epidemiologist has published the Annual Report for 2023 on Health Security and Communicable Diseases.
The report covers diseases, pathogens, and events athat are subject to registration and monitored by the Chief Epidemiologist. Additionally, serious diseases that threaten public health are notifiable, and in such cases, the Chief Epidemiologist is provided with personal data.

In addition, the Chief Epidemiologist monitors antibiotic use, which can lead to antibiotic resistance, and organizes and co-ordinates general vaccinations. While these topics are discussed in the report, special reports are also published on them separately.
Furthermore, the report addresses infections related to healthcare services as well as serious health consequences and acute symptoms caused by toxins and radioactive substances.
