Confirmed cases of Influenza are on the rise again this winter and currently, the majority of the Influenza cases are of type B. The number of COVID-19 cases in week 7 was comparable to the previous three weeks. Clinical diagnoses of scarlet fever and sore throat continue to rise, with weekly numbers being much higher than weekly averages of past years. The majority of cases of scarlet fever are among young children. Fewer cases of RSV were diagnosed in week 7 compared to week 6, but more cases of Rhinovirus. Landspitali hospital reports a reduction in admissions associated with COVID-19, Influenza, or RSV in week 7 compared to week 6.
