The registration deadline is 14 September. After completing the course, teachers will gain access to the learning materials, which are primarily intended for teaching at the youngest level of primary school but have also been used in Iceland with the oldest children in nursery schools.
Zippy’s Friends is a programme designed to enhance children's social and emotional skills, including the ability to understand and express their feelings, communicate effectively, find suitable solutions to problems, and cope with adversity. The programme comprises six modules, each with four lessons. The lessons are described in detail in the high-quality teaching materials that accompany the course.
The programme has been among the most widely used resources for enhancing the social and emotional skills of younger children in primary schools in Iceland, but it has not been available for some time. The resource has now been reissued, and the Directorate of Health is therefore once again offering teachers a course and access to the resource.
Unfortunately, the course is now full and we cannot accept any more registrations
