Respiratory tract infections. Week 3 2024

In a new summary the frequency of respiratory infections and their complications is reviewed and the situation in Iceland compared to the situation in Europe.
The number of diagnoses of COVID-19, influenza, and RSV has been decreasing in the new year. Of the 21 confirmed cases of influenza in week 3, four were of influenza B strain. Participation in vaccinations against influenza and COVID-19 by priority groups has been lower this winter compared to previous years.
