The Directorate of Health has a legal obligation under The Medical Director of Health and Public Health Act No. 41/2007 to supervise the operation of health services that, by law, must be reported to the Office before operations begin. In cases where the Medical Director of Health has not approved the operation of health services, the Office is required by law to act in accordance with Chapter III of the Act on the Medical Director of Health and Public Health.
According to the first paragraph of Article 7 of the same Act, the Directorate of Health has the authority to demand information and data from healthcare professionals, health institutions, and others who provide health services that it considers necessary to perform its supervisory role, and they are obliged to comply with such a demand.
The Directorate of Health wishes to emphasize that the media coverage regarding the aforementioned revocation of a doctor's license has no basis in the legal grounds used as the foundation for the case.
The Directorate of Health does not intend to comment further on the matter in question, as the decision to revoke a healthcare professional's license can always be appealed to the Ministry of Health.
