The Directorate of Health is seeking to recruit a healthcare professional specialized in health service monitoring and quality.

The division is responsible for, among other duties, monitoring healthcare institutions and professionals, as well as overseeing the development of quality in healthcare services. Main tasks and responsibilities
Participation in a multidisciplinary team responsible for investigating serious incidents in healthcare.
Health service audits.
Handling comments, suggestions, and reports on quality and safety in healthcare.
Supporting the office in the implementation of the Health Care Quality Development Plan 2019-2030.
Communicating with healthcare institution managers, healthcare professionals, and government bodies.
Consulting with healthcare providers and users.
Contributing to the development of professional requirements and guidelines.
Involvement in policy work.
Other tasks as assigned by the head of division and the Medical Director of Health.
Qualification criteria
A master's degree relevant to the job and an Icelandic work permit as a healthcare professional are required.
A comprehensive understanding of the Icelandic healthcare system is required.
A minimum of 6 years' work experience within the Icelandic healthcare system is required.
Knowledge and experience in quality and safety issues within healthcare are a requirement.
Knowledge and experience in geriatric services are advantageous.
Having work experience in administration is beneficial.
Positivity and agility in communication.
Excellent command of spoken and written Icelandic.
Strong ability to analyze data and communicate information in writing and orally.
Disciplined, professional, and independent working methods.

Salary in accordance with the applicable collective agreement concluded between the Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs and the relevant trade union.
