The Sketching Antimicrobial Resistance - Street Exhibition
20th June - 1st August 2026
Austurstræti, 101 Reykjavík

The Sketching AMR exhibition explores antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and its impact on public health, societies and ecosystems around the world. Through creative and visual storytelling, this complex issue is made accessible to the public while raising awareness of the importance of preserving antibiotic effectiveness for future generations.
The artworks will be displayed outdoors on exhibition stands along Austurstræti throughout the summer, giving passers-by the chance to pause during their daily routines and experience the exhibition in a public space.
The street exhibition is part of the Sketching AMR initiative, organized and funded by the European project EU JAMRAI 2, which involves 30 EU and EEA countries, including Iceland.
The project uses artistic expression to raise awareness of antimicrobial resistance, with a focus on the One Health approach, which recognizes the interconnectedness of human, animal and environmental health. Its aim is to encourage discussion of our shared responsibility in addressing this growing global challenge.
