On Tuesday, 22 September, a symposium will be held at the University of Akureyri, where Miðpunktur – a collaborative platform for research in suicidology – will be formally established. Academics, professionals and students will come together to discuss research, experience and developments in suicidology and suicide prevention.

Call for abstracts until 4 August 2026.

Academics, researchers and students are encouraged to submit presentations based on research or practical experience.

Presentations are particularly requested on:

• suicidal behaviour and its influencing factors

• suicide prevention and intervention

• public health and epidemiology

• clinical research and treatment

• data analysis and measurement tools

• experience from services and community-based solutions
