On Monday, 23 November, a symposium will be held at the University of Akureyri, where Miðpunktur – a collaborative platform for research in suicidology – will be formally established. Academics, professionals and students will come together to discuss research, experience and developments in suicidology and suicide prevention.

Call for abstracts until 15 October 2026.

Academics, researchers and students are encouraged to submit presentations based on research or practical experience.

Presentations are particularly requested on:

• suicidal behaviour and its influencing factors

• suicide prevention and intervention

• public health and epidemiology

• clinical research and treatment

• data analysis and measurement tools

• experience from services and community-based solutions
