The map was presented at a recent Nordic conference on artificial intelligence in university hospitals, held at the Karolinska University Hospital in Sweden. The conference was attended by around 250 people from the Nordic countries, the Baltic states and beyond, who discussed the many opportunities and challenges that come with the implementation of solutions based on artificial intelligence in clinical work. The Chief Medical Officer of Digital Health, Gunnar Thorarensen, attended the conference and took part in a panel discussion on ethical and legal issues.

The overview map covers Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden and provides an interactive view of how artificial intelligence is being developed and used in the countries' healthcare systems, from prototypes to solutions already in daily use.

Digital Health participated in the project on behalf of Iceland and contributed data on artificial intelligence projects in the Icelandic healthcare service.

The aim of the map is to increase transparency, share knowledge and promote cross-border collaboration. By making AI projects visible, healthcare institutions, decision-makers and scientists can learn from each other, identify common challenges and find opportunities for collaboration.

The map's categories and data model were jointly developed by a working group with representatives from all five countries, and the map will be updated regularly. It provides a realistic picture of the current situation and shows how many exciting projects are underway in the Nordic countries that can improve the quality of healthcare and user experience with the help of the latest technology.
