What is the Iceland Digital Mailbox and for whom?
The Digital Mailbox of Ísland.is is the topic of this third episode of the Digital Chat.
In the Digital Chat, we discuss digital transformation and review practical issues that benefit people in their lives and work. The goal is to increase understanding and open our eyes to the opportunities that lie in digital development. Digital transformation is, indeed, about people, and therefore nothing is more important than that people understand and trust digital services.
In this third episode of the Digital Chat, we chat about the Digital Mailbox of Ísland.is. In mid-2021, a law was passed on the Digital Mailbox, the first in Iceland to directly address digital services. The law aims to promote efficient public services, increase transparency and administrative efficiency and ensure a secure way to disseminate data to individuals and businesses. It is also the law's aim that the main communication channel between the government and individuals should be digital and centralized in one place.
