Opening of 4,000 Ton Mackerel Quota for Category B

Opened is in accordance with Regulation concerning the allocation of 4,000 tons of additional mackerel allowances. On the first working day of each week, the Directorate of Fisheries processes the applications received during the previous week.

Only vessels in Category B that have been allocated 30 tons or less, or have caught 75% or more of their allocation, can receive additional allocations. The maximum allocation for a vessel at any one time is 50 tons, and the fee for allocation is 1.79 ISK per kilogram. Please note that allowances purchased from the quota are non-transferable.
