Shape the Future of Public Services

In recent years, Digital Iceland has worked to improve public services by developing digital solutions and has been involved in countless reform projects in public services in one way or another. There has been a clear emphasis on digital services being the primary channel of communication between the public sector, the public, and companies, and the number of people choosing to resolve their own matters with the help of digital solutions is constantly increasing.

With the status assessment and options analysis of a new policy currently in development, the goal is to ensure cost-effective, efficient, and user-centric public services that are accessible to everyone. It discusses the development of expenditures, service quality, challenges, and opportunities, and presents a draft vision for the future and introduces various options. The status assessment is based, among other things, on a public consultation held earlier this year under the title „Verum hagsýn í rekstri ríkisins“.

The consultation will last for two weeks, and everyone is welcome to submit their suggestions and viewpoints. The results will be used to shape the final policy on public services and a plan for its implementation, which will, among other things, replace the Digital Policy from July 2021.
