Today is the International Day of Down's Syndrome, and for this reason all staff at the NTÍ showed up in non-conforming socks to show support for individuals with Down's, the date being 21 March each year and is chosen because 95% of those with Down's syndrome have an extra copy of chromosome 21. The theme of this year's series is "With us, Not for us." The syndrome is named after John Langdon Down, an British physician who was the first to describe the syndrome in 1866.
