Are you the next editor of Ísland.is?

The Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs is looking for a strong and ambitious editor to lead the strategy of the presentation of content on Ísland.is, develop the content and accessibility policy of Ísland.is and thus support the transformation of digital public services.

Digital Iceland is a division of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs. Its mission is to work with ministries, institutions, and other public bodies to promote digital services to the public, thus ensuring clear, simple, and fast communication. The manifestation of Digital Iceland's projects to users is Ísland.is.

Digital Iceland operates a group of specialists whose mission is to simplify people's lives. Among the qualities that the ministry is looking for is a person who can easily get people to work together and can bring out the best of others.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development of the content and accessibility policy of Ísland.is, including the presentation of content

  • Editing and follow-up with the quality of information on Ísland.is, including removal of material

  • Ensure coordination and synergy of content on Ísland.is, in applications, in chatter and in the Ísland.is app

  • Responsibility for communication and education framework for web administrators of public bodies

  • Creating instructions and maintaining the web administrator manual

  • Follow-up with translations of material on Ísland.is

  • Cooperation with Ísland.is product manager in the presentation of content and services

  • Participation in the policy and planning of Digital Iceland

Skills requirements

  • Education and practical experience that is useful in the field

  • Knowledge and experience in managing diverse projects

  • Skills and experience in the dissemination of knowledge

  • High levels of human interaction skills and leadership

  • Positive attitude, service orientation, and initiative

  • Organizational skills, disciplined and independent practices

  • Very good ability in Icelandic and English in speech and writing is a condition

Pay according to the current wage agreement concluded by the Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs and the Association of University-qualified employees of the Administrative Board.

An application for the job must be accompanied by a detailed CV and a letter of introduction explaining the reason for the application and justifying the applicant's competence in the job. It is desirable that the applicant can start work as soon as possible. It is a full-time job and the job is temporary for two years.
