Iceland Health have authority to issue medicinal product certificates to provide payment participation in medicinal products which do not otherwise have a payment participation.

The payment participation in medicine is based on a graduated payment participation, whereby each individual pays proportionately less as his/her cost of medication increases within a twelve-month period.
