If you wish to request temporary termination of patient insurance for example because of parental leave or longer illness, you must first select the license number and enter information about your specialty, employment rate and period (all year is selected). When this is completed, “vacation registration” is selected in the drop-down list under license number. Then click on “register a new type” and a window opens where specialty is selected and then you can enter periods of holiday. Note that according to the Regulation on contributions, it is not allowed to register holidays that are less than three months or longer than 12 months. Temporary termination is intended to cover those who take maternity leave, long-term sick leave and the like, but there is no holiday registration for summer holidays. Insurance shall be valid in traditional summer holidays and other holidays that are less than 3 months.

It is best to complete the registration as soon as you know when you will return to work. The registration can be adjusted later if circumstances change.
