Directorate of Immigration: Travel and visits to Iceland
Can my relative get a visa to visit me in Iceland?
If your relative is a citizen of a country outside the EEA/EFTA, he or she may have to apply for a visa to visit you in Iceland. Check if your relative needs a visa to visit Iceland.
A letter of invitation from a host in Iceland must accompany your relative's visa application. The host in Iceland fills in and signs the invitation letter and sends it in its original form to the relative abroad. The relative shall attach the invitation letter to the visa application, together with other supporting documents.
Note that the application process varies depending on where a visa is applied for. It is therefore important that applicants carefully examine the website of the relevant embassy or application center for guidance on their process.
The Directorate of Immigration keeps a list of countries and cities where you can apply for a visa to Iceland.
