The phylogeny of vascularisation

The moratorium on the radiation is valid between 15 April and 14 July each year.

The privacy profile includes that:

  • all shots are prohibited within 2 km of the catheter, unless clearly necessary

  • the net shall not be placed in the sea closer to the protected fjord than 250 m from the high-current tide, except with the permission of the owner of the fjord

  • all uncontrolled traffic and disturbances are prohibited, except with the permission of the owner of the property

  • all unnecessary noise caused by humans and machines is prohibited, except with the permission of the owner of the property

The protected areas should be clearly identified where possible. In wilderness islands and hólmai this is not appropriate.

A request for the preservation shall come from the landowner, the inhabitants or the operator of the vascular plant. A decision on the preservation of the vascular plant shall be published in the Law Gazette and shall be valid for 10 years from the publication.

Charge

A request costs ISK 12,000, which is paid by the applicant.

Publication in Lögbirtingablaðið also has a cost that the applicant pays.

Application process

A request for a declaration of immunity must be sent to the district commissioner of the office where the project is located.

Supporting data

  • An approved map or aerial photograph showing clearly the boundary of the lumpfish.

  • The District Commissioner may require confirmation from two people who are familiar with the situation that a radiation problem exists in the area in question or that it is likely that a radiation problem could occur there.

The District Commissioner receives the request and payment and obtains confirmation from the construction officer whether facilities are correctly described in the request.

If a request is accepted, the District Commissioner prepares an advertisement in the Law Gazette. The applicant pays the cost of the advertisement.

The appeal period

Decisions of the District Commissioner may be appealed to the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources within three months of receipt.
