Application for a personal spokesperson

Disabled people who find it difficult to protect their own interests have a right to get a personal spokesperson to assist them in exercising their legal capacity. A personal spokesperson will assist people in:

  • Protecting their rights and enjoying them

  • Applying for any kind of service

  • Accessing necessary information and making informed decisions

  • Monitoring finances and paying bills

Both disabled individuals or prospective spokespersons may apply for an agreement on a personal spokesperson. The spokesperson is required to have knowledge on the needs and wishes of that individual and to complete an online course on the role.

Application for Personal Spokeperson

A formal contract for personal spokesperson is done under the condition that rights protection officer investigates the disabled applicant's will to the agreement and circumstances. It is possible to have more than one personal spokesperson. In that case, make another application for that spokesperson.
