Salmon and trout fishing
The main role of the salmonid fisheries division is to ensure the sustainable exploitation of salmonids in rivers and lakes and to protect their habitat in cooperation with Freshwater Fisheries Associations and owners of fisheries rights. It also plays an important role in the social development of Freshwater Fisheries Associations in Iceland and maintains a register of Freshwater Fisheries Associations and owners of fishing rights.
