Web-press accessible at Island.is
A major emphasis is on making the Island.is website accessible to all individuals. As part of that effort, it was decided to introduce a web-based platform for all articles on the website.
The web-based tool is a tool that retrieves pertinent text from a page, making it easier for visually impaired individuals to get information on the page.
There was a specific technical challenge in implementing the solution on Island.is because the website is based on SPA and the solution is not developed with that in mind.
The primary benefit of this solution is increased access for those who use these solutions or need them.
