The number of COVID-19 diagnoses is stable, but the number of influenza diagnoses appears to rise. The number of diagnoses of RSV infection is also on the rise. The number of people admitted to Landspitali Hospital with a respiratory virus infection increased at the beginning of November, and the weekly number has been fairly stable since then.

Most of those who are hospitalized have COVID-19, and most of them are in the age group of 65 years and older. Children under two years of age made up the majority of those hospitalized for RSV in week 48.

The new report gives a closer overview of the incidence of respiratory diseases in week 48 of 2023.
