I Can’t Open a Document in the Digital Mailbox

First of all, you need to check if you can open other documents in the digital mailbox. If you can open documents from other institutions, you need to contact the institution that sent the document that does not open. It is most likely that the document delivery has gone wrong.

Digital mailbox on Ísland.is publishes documents directly from the institutions' data base, the document itself is therefore not stored at Ísland.is.

If you are unable to open any documents, try a different browser. Google Chrome usually works best. Also, if you are opening them on a phone, try seeing if opening them on a computer works.

If nothing works, please send us a screenshot of the error and your personal ID number to island@island.is.
