Continuing education for securities license holders

Continuing education for securities license holders

Those who have acquired securities licence are obliged to attend regular continuing education which ensures that they maintain academic knowledge, professional competence and values.

Continuing education for securities licence must correspond to a minimum of six hours in each three-year period, which must be confirmed, e.g. with written confirmation from the course instructor or from the relevant university in the case of teaching or lecturing at university level.

The continuing education must cover some of the subjects tested by the securities license exam, and a minimum of two hours must be spent on continuing education about laws and regulations in the financial market.

The continuing education period for those who have acquired a securities licence begins on January 1 of the year after it was granted.

Those who have a securities licence must keep a record of their continuing education and deliver it to the securities licence examination committee, in the form decided by the committee, if the committee so requests.

In Articles 8 and 9 in the regulation on securities licence, no. 1125/2021, there is a more detailed explaination on continuing education for the securities licence exam.
