General information

Your pension entitlement shall lapse if you:

• move to a nursing home

• have a long stay in hospital

• serving a sentence

• are in custody

In return, payment is made to those who are eligible to do so. Only pensioners serving a sentence or in custody must apply specifically for the disposal funds.

Pensioners in nursing homes and hospitals pay part of their residence costs against the state.

Rights of spouses and cohabiting partners

Spouses and cohabiting partners of pensioners staying in an institution may have the right to:
