The National Archives is the largest collection of primary sources of information on the history of the Icelandic nation and the development of settlement in Iceland and is therefore the foundation of research, administration and human rights in this country. Transfer of the City Documentary’s tasks and collection assets to the National Archives
From 1 January 2024, the administration and institutions of the City of Reykjavík will submit their documents to the National Archives of Iceland.
