Connecting the State 2025
The annual conference of Digital Iceland will be held on the 18th of September 2025. This is the 6th time the conference will be held, and it will be accessible both on-site and through streaming. The theme of this year’s conference is security and digital leadership in a volatile time, and therefore appeals to a wide range of public and private sectors. The focus is on the opportunities that lie in digitisation, learning from digital projects, and what to avoid. Key speakers will include keynote speakers from Ukraine and several interesting talks from institutions that have made good progress in their digital journey and digital services. The agenda will be announced in mid-August, when ticket sales begin.
In the morning of the conference day, workshops will be held that will focus on service, tech and development, the Ísland.is web, the benefits of digital projects, and the vision of the digital roadmap of the public sector.
Last year, around 500 people attended the conference as well as a large number of people were watching online. Among the guests in recent years have been directors, technical directors, service managers, web managers, and key people in leadership from both the public and private sectors.
Employment training fund in the Ísland.is Application System
The Employee Training Fund has created an application in the Application System of Ísland.is. The application is funneled through the service system of Ísland.is where employees of the Fund manage communications and allocations.

Happy 18th birthday
On their 18th birthday, individuals now get a greeting to their Digital Mailbox. The greeting contains information about the rights and obligations that people are subjected to by law at this time. The project is a part of a proactive service provision.
Working machine test and teaching qualifications on Ísland.is
Applications for admission to the practical machinery examination and an application for the teaching qualifications on machinery can now be found on Ísland.is.

55.5% introduced Digital mailbox
75 institutions have implemented the Digital Mailbox, 55 municipalities, and 5 pension funds, including the pension funds account with 10 funds. The introduction of the Digital Mailbox is mandatory by law from January 1st 2025.

The Ísland.is community meets regularly and exchanges experiences. The web managers of Ísland.is meet monthly, content creators also meet monthly. Expert groups of technical staff, operations, services, and data meet several times a year.
