Licences for retail sale of tobacco

To sell tobacco for retail sale or to operate a specialist tobacco shop, a special licence is required from the department of health in the relevant controlled area.

Licences are granted for four-year terms and only granted to operators who meet the general requirements of the laws of commercial occupation.

Those who sell tobacco wholesale may not sell or deliver tobacco to persons other than those who are authorised to sell tobacco for retail sale.
