Increased driver's license

An oral examination will examine whether the applicant has that knowledge of the type and equipment of the vehicle and an understanding of the role of the driver of a car.

The oral examination must ask the candidate about academic and practical subjects in the curriculum, namely dashboards, safety equipment, controls, machinery and wagon. He/she shall be able to answer questions about

• meters and tell-tale lights on the dashboard, what each meter displays and what information it provides

• adjustment of seat and rear and side mirrors, view of a vehicle and which parts should be most emphasised to keep clean.

• the use of safety devices, their type and the means to ensure their simple operation, as well as the condition and effectiveness of brakes and other controls.

• operation and maintenance of the machinery, how oil is measured on the machinery and how other liquids such as glazing, cooling and braking fluids can be monitored.

• on tyre replacement and the use of a warning triangle.

The examination lasts five to ten minutes and consists of five questions. An examinee must answer all questions correctly but passes an examination even if the answer to two questions is not perfect. The applicant is immediately informed of the outcome of the oral examination.
