With the Ísland.is app:
Start by downloading the wallet app Smartwallet
You download the island.is app on Google Play
Log on to the app with electronic IDs
Select 'wallet' in the app
Click on the driver's licence
Press 'Add to Wallet' at the bottom of the screen
A certificate is then added to SmartWallet. Further details on island.is/app
On My Pages:
Start by downloading the wallet app Smartwallet
Select "Apply" (blue button above) and log on to the application with electronic IDs
Select "Send to phone"
Scan the QR code with your phone camera
Select "Download file"
Select "Allow"
Select "Add"
A certificate is then added to SmartWallet.
Do you receive an error in the application?
If you receive an error when you have completed the application, it is due to missing information in the driver's licence database, e.g. pictured. You probably have an old paper driving licence issued before 1998, but not the newer plastic cards. It is best to contact your local District Commissioner to renew your licence and obtain the new version.
This opens up the possibility of obtaining a digital driver's licence.
