On 24-26 August, the first part of the basic course for the Director of Public Prosecutions took place.

At the Climate Day of the Environment Agency of Iceland, which took place recently, the development of emissions and binding in Iceland was reviewed. It was revealed that in 2022 Iceland’s total emissions increased by almost one percent from the previous year. Emissions due to land use increased by the same number, but it was also revealed that the binding of forest land has increased seventeenfold since 1990. Figures on emissions and sequestration in the land use category are based, among other things, on the extensive work of Land and Forest Iceland's experts.

Just before the new year, the Hollvina association donated three hospital beds to the HVE institution, two Eleganza II beds, along with a bedside trapeze/handle and Dynaform Mercury mattress and one Latera Therma bed as a rolling bed.

Today, Tuesday March 12th, during a meeting with the Chief Epidemiologist it was confirmed that no new cases of measles have been identified.

The hearing of the rulings in the Eastfjords (area 11) took place on 5 November and the Committee has finished deliberations on sixteen of the seventeen areas in which the land was divided and the mainland procedure has been completed. The last area that is being discussed are islands and skerries around the country and this work is currently underway.

On the occasion of the Icelandic Sign Language Day, the Centre for Communication publishes a lecture by Hólmfríður Þóroddsdóttir on the influence of preparation on the quality of sign language interpretation.

On the Icelandic Sign Language Day and the anniversary of the Deaf Society, on 11 February, the three-member board of the Society recognised three members for excellence in their work and everyday tasks.

On 11 November, the Centre for Communication received a visit from Julius Birgir Jóhannsson. The occasion was the handover of the artwork Hendur, made by Julius in collaboration with Marel ehf. and Mótefni ehf.

On Sunday, 3 December, a ceremony occurred at Bessastaðir, where Guðni Th. Jóhannesson, President of Iceland, presented an award on Prevention Day 2023. Alma D. Möller, the Medical Director of Health and the President, gave a speech.
