Due to volcanic eruption near Grindavík, and necessary emergency and investigative flights, the Icelandic Transport Authority has, at the request of the Civil Protection Coordination Centre, prohibited drone flights in the area.

A drone ban has been issued due to a volcanic eruption on the Reykjanes Peninsula. The closure covers the same area as was in effect until 15 December; the area is defined by the following coordinates: 635621N0222218W / 635440N0221323W / 634902N0223533W / 634641N0222232W
